Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1. US / China:
Fly to Beijing, the capital of China.
Day 2. Arrive Beijing, transfer to the flight to Urumqi
Local guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel.

Day 3. Urumqi:
Take a cruise on Heavenly Lake, which elevates of 6400 ft above the sea level. It is a beautiful highland lake, flanked by rugged pines and cypresses, and with clear waters that reflect the surrounding mountains. Then visit Xinjiang Museum. Then visit a local market – Bazaar.

Day 4. Urumqi / Turpan:
Take a private coach to Turpan, visit the Ruins of Jiaohe City, once an important garrison town on the Silk Road. The remains of the ancient city represent the architecture of q Tang Dynasty. Then visit the Subterranean Irrigation System. Attend a local dancing show in the evening.

Day 5. Turpan / Dunhuang:
Turpan is famous for its sweet grapes and other fruits. Visit the Grape Valley and the homes of Uighur farmers. It is an extraor-dinary experience. Then visit Flaming Mountain. It is formed from russet sandstone, conglomerate and mudstone which sparkles under the blazing sun. Take an over night soft

Day 6: Arrive in Dunhuang in the morning.
Dunhuang was a major point of interchange between China & the outside world during Han & Tang dynasties, also a stopping-off post for both incoming and outgoing trading caravans. Visit Dunhuang Museum & Singing Sand Dunes, where we experience a short camel-riding along the Dunes to reach the Crescent Lake.

Day 7. Dunhuang:
Visit Mogao Grottoes – the “World’s Treasure House of Art”. It is the world's most important sites of ancient Buddhist culture. The grottoes, also known as Caves of the Thousand Buddhas, preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and manuscripts, dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries. Enjoy a Silk Road Singing & Dancing Show after dinner.

Day 8. Dunhuang / Jiayuguan / Lanzhou:
Drive to Jiayuguan Pass(4 hours), which was considered both the western tip of the Great Wall and the western boundary of the empire. Visit the Jiayu- guan Fort and the overhanging Great Wall. Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Lanzhou.

Day 9. Arrive in Lanzhou in the morning:
Take a half day tour to Bingling Grottoes, which is one of China's best grottoes. With the first cave built in 420 AD, Bingling Grottoes are next to those in Dunhuang and the Maiji Mountain in magnitude and the value of their historical relics. Then visit Jiujiaxia Gorge.

Day 10. Lanzhou / US:
The tour guide will send you to the airport to fly home. Or extend your trip to Xining, Mt. Hua and Xian.

Day 10. Lanzhou / Xining:
Take a train to Xining, the capital of Qinghai province. Visit Kumbum Monastery, the birthplace of Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Visit the local minority, Tujia people, in the afternoon. Enjoy the dancing, singing and other cultural activities.

Day 11. Xining:
Visit Qinghai Lake, historically known as Koko Nor, is a saline lake situated in the pro- vince of Qinghai, and is the largest lake in China. Visit Qinhai Folk Musuem in the afternoon.

Day 12. Xining / Xian / Mt Hua(Huashan):
Fly to Xian, the starting point of the historic Silk Road. Visit Mt. Hua, one of China's Five Sacred Daoist mountains, and has a long history of religious significance.

Day 13. Mt Hua / Xian:
Finish the tour in Mt Hua. Drive back to Xian to visit the Ancient City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

Day 14. Xian
The Terra Cotta Warriors is China’s most important archaeological site, thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors and horses buried 2000 years ago to guard the tomb of the first emperor. Visit the excavation site and tour the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum to learn more about their fascinating history. Then visit Huaqingchi and the Ancient City Wall. Enjoy an Imperial Dump- ling Banquet and the world famous Tang Dynasty Stage Show tonight.
